Tablets
for Textbooks in Schools
We
all know that textbooks were first used long time ago. Until now, we still use
it as a medium of instruction. It is doubtful if these will totally be replaced
by digital technology reading tools, but there are now perceptions that virtual
literacy may very well ease out textual print literacy.
We
never ran out of books inside our home. Before I went to kindergarten schools,
I already had my books since my mother is a school teacher. She taught me many
things with the use of the available books in our house. Until I reached my
kindergarten days, I was able to have more books for our lessons. But during
high school, books had been expensive since I was studying in private school. I
could still clearly remember that the most costly book in my entire high school
life was the Physics which outlays Php 700.00 and the cheapest book costs, Php
120.00 which was our Values book (Our Journey). Until now, books in college are
still for sale. I’ve never experienced yet using tablet as our textbook inside
the classroom but I already experienced using it whenever I study or read
something, or even research for something.
Textbook
has been a great help to humankind, but as we notice nowadays, it is gradually
vanishing in some school because of the technological advancement. But we could
not deny the fact that tablets also contribute to the progress of an individual
learnings.
As
to the application, I will be introducing tablet as means of learning inside
the learning area. But, I will not forget that books are more important than
gadgets even if we say that tablets are advanced.
