Educational technology is a wide field. Therefore, one can find many definitions, some of which are conflicting. Educational technology can be considered either as a design science or as a collection of different research interests addressing fundamental issues of learning, teaching and social organization. Through this course, the learners become aware and equipped in using technology as a tool for them to acquire the information they needed. This may introduce some disadvantages with the use of computers but this may also introduce benefits that will surely help the learners in improving their advanced growth.
During our Educational Technology I, I’ve experienced a lot of things regarding the use of computer. We were taught by our instructor Mr. James L. Paglinawan about the making of our power point presentation which would be presentable and unique enough, also the Toondoo thing which helped us a lot in creating a comic strip through it.
I’ve learned that, the use of computer does not only bring negative effects on the people who are using it, but it depends on how those people use it wisely and effectively. I’ve also learned that through this course, I was able to advance my learnings in the field of technology. I became more productive when it comes to the usage of the different applications which will be found anywhere in the internet and other devices where those applications were installed. But most of all, I’ve learned that traditional teaching must not be easily dominated by the technology.
As a future teacher, I must share my knowledge about Educational Technology I to my future students for them to become a more advance learners. I should be teaching them the right way of using it and introduce to them the technology as an advantage if they will be using it properly.
